FaceChain: A Playground for Human-centric Artificial Intelligence Generated Content

Recent advancement in personalized image generation have unveiled the intriguing capability of pre-trained text-to-image models on learning identity information from a collection of portrait images. However, existing solutions are vulnerable in producing truthful details, and usually suffer from several defects such as (i) The generated face exhibit its own unique characteristics, \ie facial shape and facial feature positioning may not resemble key characteristics of the input, and (ii) The synthesized face may contain warped, blurred or corrupted regions. In this paper, we present FaceChain, a personalized portrait generation framework that combines a series of customized image-generation model and a rich set of face-related perceptual understanding models (\eg, face detection, deep face embedding extraction, and facial attribute recognition), to tackle aforementioned challenges and to generate truthful personalized portraits, with only a handful of portrait images as input. Concretely, we inject several SOTA face models into the generation procedure, achieving a more efficient label-tagging, data-processing, and model post-processing compared to previous solutions, such as DreamBooth ~ruiz2023dreambooth , InstantBooth ~shi2023instantbooth , or other LoRA-only approaches ~hu2021lora . Besides, based on FaceChain, we further develop several applications to build a broader playground for better showing its value, including virtual try on and 2D talking head. We hope it can grow to serve the burgeoning needs from the communities. Note that this is an ongoing work that will be consistently refined and improved upon. Tagging the Thought: Unlocking Personalization Reasoning via Reinforcement Learning

Recent advancements have endowed Large Language Models (LLMs) with impressive general reasoning capabilities, yet they often struggle with personalization reasoning - the crucial ability to analyze user history, infer unique preferences, and generate tailored responses. To address this limitation, we introduce TagPR, a novel training framework that significantly enhances an LLM's intrinsic capacity for personalization reasoning through a tagging the thought approach. Our method first develops a data-driven pipeline to automatically generate and semantically label reasoning chains, creating a structured dataset that fosters interpretable reasoning. We then propose a synergistic training strategy that begins with Supervised Fine-Tuning (SFT) on this tagged data to establish foundational reasoning patterns, followed by a multi-stage reinforcement learning (RL) process. This RL phase is guided by a unique composite reward signal, which integrates tag-based constraints and a novel Personalization Reward Model with User Embeddings (PRMU) to achieve fine-grained alignment with user-specific logic. Extensive experiments on the public LaMP benchmark and a self-constructed dataset demonstrate that our approach achieves state-of-the-art results, delivering an average improvement of 32.65% over the base model across all tasks. Our work validates that structured, interpretable reasoning is a highly effective pathway to unlocking genuine personalization capabilities in LLMs.

ARCADE: A City-Scale Corpus for Fine-Grained Arabic Dialect Tagging

The Arabic language is characterized by a rich tapestry of regional dialects that differ substantially in phonetics and lexicon, reflecting the geographic and cultural diversity of its speakers. Despite the availability of many multi-dialect datasets, mapping speech to fine-grained dialect sources, such as cities, remains underexplored. We present ARCADE (Arabic Radio Corpus for Audio Dialect Evaluation), the first Arabic speech dataset designed explicitly with city-level dialect granularity. The corpus comprises Arabic radio speech collected from streaming services across the Arab world. Our data pipeline captures 30-second segments from verified radio streams, encompassing both Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) and diverse dialectal speech. To ensure reliability, each clip was annotated by one to three native Arabic reviewers who assigned rich metadata, including emotion, speech type, dialect category, and a validity flag for dialect identification tasks. The resulting corpus comprises 6,907 annotations and 3,790 unique audio segments spanning 58 cities across 19 countries. These fine-grained annotations enable robust multi-task learning, serving as a benchmark for city-level dialect tagging. We detail the data collection methodology, assess audio quality, and provide a comprehensive analysis of label distributions. PIIBench: A Unified Multi-Source Benchmark Corpus for Personally Identifiable Information Detection

We present PIIBench, a unified benchmark corpus for Personally Identifiable Information (PII) detection in natural language text. Existing resources for PII detection are fragmented across domain-specific corpora with mutually incompatible annotation schemes, preventing systematic comparison of detection systems. We consolidate ten publicly available datasets spanning synthetic PII corpora, multilingual Named Entity Recognition (NER) benchmarks, and financial domain annotated text, yielding a corpus of 2,369,883 annotated sequences and 3.35 million entity mentions across 48 canonical PII entity types. We develop a principled normalization pipeline that maps 80+ source-specific label variants to a standardized BIO tagging scheme, applies frequency-based suppression of near absent entity types, and produces stratified 80/10/10 train/validation/test splits preserving source distribution. To establish baseline difficulty, we evaluate eight published systems spanning rule-based engines (Microsoft Presidio), general purpose NER models (spaCy, BERT-base NER, XLM-RoBERTa NER, SpanMarker mBERT, SpanMarker BERT), a PII-specific model (Piiranha DeBERTa), and a financial NER specialist (XtremeDistil FiNER). All systems achieve span-level F1 below 0.14, with the best system (Presidio, F1=0.1385) still producing zero recall on most entity types. These results directly quantify the domain-silo problem and demonstrate that PIIBench presents a substantially harder and more comprehensive evaluation challenge than any existing single source PII dataset. FILTER: An Enhanced Fusion Method for Cross-lingual Language Understanding

Large-scale cross-lingual language models (LM), such as mBERT, Unicoder and XLM, have achieved great success in cross-lingual representation learning. However, when applied to zero-shot cross-lingual transfer tasks, most existing methods use only single-language input for LM finetuning, without leveraging the intrinsic cross-lingual alignment between different languages that proves essential for multilingual tasks. In this paper, we propose FILTER, an enhanced fusion method that takes cross-lingual data as input for XLM finetuning. Specifically, FILTER first encodes text input in the source language and its translation in the target language independently in the shallow layers, then performs cross-language fusion to extract multilingual knowledge in the intermediate layers, and finally performs further language-specific encoding. During inference, the model makes predictions based on the text input in the target language and its translation in the source language. For simple tasks such as classification, translated text in the target language shares the same label as the source language. However, this shared label becomes less accurate or even unavailable for more complex tasks such as question answering, NER and POS tagging. To tackle this issue, we further propose an additional KL-divergence self-teaching loss for model training, based on auto-generated soft pseudo-labels for translated text in the target language. Extensive experiments demonstrate that FILTER achieves new state of the art on two challenging multilingual multi-task benchmarks, XTREME and XGLUE.
