Not good for learning Chinese?

It's funny that this is a Chinese model, but it makes a lot of mistakes when you you ask it, for example, to translate some simple text into Chinese and it gives you pinyin with lots of mistakes, not what is actually written in Chinese characters. Pinyin is pretty important for beginners. Even gemma 2 9b seems to be a lot better, from what i noticed.
Not sure about the quality of text in pure Chinese (because my Chinese is bad), but pinyin definitely is very wrong sometimes.
